History of the original:

The harbour tug Neptun is a remote-controlled, prototype-like replica of a harbour tug as can still be found in many harbours today. This design was modelled on harbour tugs from the Bugsier series in Hamburg.

During the construction of the model, great importance was attached to high fidelity to the original and lovingly executed details. On the lower mast platform there is a functional, rigid extinguishing monitor. The swivelling Kort nozzle makes the Neptun particularly manoeuvrable, so that all difficult towing and bowing manoeuvres can be carried out with ease. The towing hook can also be opened by remote control.

Kit contents description:

The kit contains a hull made of sturdy ABS and all superstructures, also moulded in ABS. Stiffeners and a model stand made of plywood. A basic set of fitting parts, Kort nozzle and towing gear are included. Shaft and stern tube with plastic propeller.  A detailed building plan and precise building instructions with many tips and hints are included.

The fittings set is not included and can be ordered separately as a kit!

Who is the kit suitable for?

The kit is aimed at modellers with experience in ship modelling.

What else is needed?

Paints, adhesives and tools are required and can be found in our range.

The instructions recommend a brushed geared motor - a slow-turning brushless motor might be a better choice.

The fittings set with ladders, fenders, lifebuoys, flag etc. is not included in the kit and accessories as a complete set.

What do the building instructions look like?

The German building instructions have 22 pages. The instructions are based on text and supplementary photos.
There are parts lists, recommendations for adhesives to be used and a list of recommended accessories.
