History of the original:

The CG-44329 was built at the Coast Guard Yard in Curtis Bay, Maryland in 1964 and assigned to the Manasquan Inlet, New Jersey station that same year, where it was in service from the 1970s to the 1990s.
The ship is identical in construction to the other 44-foot MLBs - self-righting steel hull, twin diesel drives, approx. 17.5 tonnes displacement, length approx. 13.45 m, width approx. 3.86 m. Top speed approx. 12 kn (≈ 22 km/h), with a crew of 4, designed for storms with winds of up to 50 kn and waves of up to 30 ft (≈ 9 m). The Manasquan station operated several rescue boats, including CG-44329, which successfully coped with severe weather conditions and the Bar Crossing (inland barrier) for decades. The focus was on rescues in extreme conditions - heavy swells, high winds - typically on the New Jersey coast. CG-44329 was delivered to Tunisia in April 2001 as part of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme. It entered service with the Tunisian Coast Guard without any major technical modifications.

Kit description:

These small stand-up models are very popular due to their pre-moulded ABS hull, manageable size and good attention to detail and are often converted into RC models. The models are quick and easy to build. The wooden parts are already laser-cut and all the necessary fittings are included.

Who is the kit suitable for?

The kit is suitable for modellers with little experience, experienced modellers will enjoy the many details and can expand the kit into an RC model.

We offer a motor-shaft extension kit for RC conversion (2x required).

What do the building instructions look like?

The multilingual assembly instructions consist solely of a few drawings without any additional descriptions. Good technical imagination is required here.
