Aero-naut Classic – Wooden kit for a sporty RC motorboat
The Classic Sport Boat from aero-naut is a neatly constructed wooden kit for a sporty, classically designed runabout. With its elegant lines, high-quality veneer finish and sturdy frame construction, this model is aimed at beginners with some building experience as well as advanced model builders who want to build a compact, powerful RC motorboat made of wood.

Concept & area of application
The Classic Sport Boat is designed as a classic electric runabout and is very well suited for calm to slightly choppy waters.
With its sporty hull shape and compact design, the model is ideal for:
– Leisure cruising at medium to high speeds
– The installation of modern electric drive technology
– Model builders looking for a sporty wooden boat with good accessibility
The superstructure is removable, so that the motor, battery, controller and receiver are easily accessible at all times.
Construction & material
The hull is constructed using traditional frame construction, which enables precise shaping and high stability. The planking is finished with mahogany veneer, giving the model the typical appearance of classic wooden runabouts.

The construction requires basic skills in working with wood, sanding and surface treatment.
Use & motorisation
Electric motors ranging from Brushed 400–600 to more powerful brushless systems are suitable for the model, depending on the desired speed.
NiMH batteries (6–7 cells) or LiPo batteries (2–3S) can be used as power sources.
Important technical information (recommended improvements)
1. Replacement of the shaft system
We strongly recommend replacing the supplied ship shaft with a higher-quality shaft system that:
– can easily withstand higher speeds
– generates less vibration
– is more durable
– allows the use of standard ship propellers with threads
Suitable alternatives are suggested under Accessories.
2. Rigid coupling required
A rigid coupling should be used in conjunction with the selected motor to ensure that the motor and shaft are precisely aligned. This improves running smoothness, durability and power transmission – especially with brushless drives.
3. Revise servo mounting
The servo should not be mounted exclusively with adhesive tape, as mentioned in the assembly instructions.
We recommend a fixed mounting, e.g. using:
– Plywood servo board
– Screw fastening or secure bracket
This ensures long-term stability and precise rudder control.
