The Comtesse from aero-naut is a large-scale model kit of a classic luxury yacht, designed as an RC model with a commanding presence on the water. Its dimensions offer ample space for a clear technical installation and it is particularly suitable for model builders who want to build a representative, high-quality boat with classic lines.

Construction and design

The hull is constructed entirely from wood. The components are precisely prepared, with many parts laser-cut to ensure a straight and reproducible construction. The kit is designed so that the hull is built on a building slipway, which makes alignment and symmetry much easier.

Visually, the Comtesse is clearly designed to give the impression of an elegant yacht. Elegant wood surfaces are intended for the visible areas, complemented by materials for an ‘interior’ effect. Fine metal parts from an etched parts set support the detailing of typical yacht features.

For a permanently clean result, it is advisable to seal the hull inside and out and to plan the paint structure carefully, as the surface quality of this model accounts for a large part of the overall effect.

RC equipment and driving

The Comtesse is designed for a twin-screw drive. This allows the yacht to be manoeuvred in a very controlled manner and to be guided cleanly through curves. Depending on the drive selected, the driving characteristics can be adjusted from smooth and realistic to significantly more dynamic.

There is sufficient space inside to place motors, controllers, batteries, receivers and servos in an easily accessible location. This facilitates maintenance and subsequent adjustments, for example when the propeller, battery voltage or controller parameters need to be changed.

Scope of delivery and important information

The kit contains the essential parts for building the hull and superstructure, including the prepared wooden components, materials for the surface design and fine detailing parts. Detailed, step-by-step instructions with numerous illustrations support the construction process.

Separate fittings/accessories may also be required, depending on the desired level of completion, and are available as accessories. Drive, electronics, adhesives and paints are not included.

Area of application

The Comtesse is an RC model for ponds and lakes. Its size and twin-screw propulsion system make it particularly suitable for leisurely cruising, harbour manoeuvres and an elegant yacht appearance on the water.
