Sportboat Phantom a Billing Boats RC model boat kit

History of the original:

A small classic American sports boat from the mid-20s of the last century. These types of boats were mainly used as "racing boats". Those who could afford it also used the sleek boats as feeders for larger yachts. The "racing boats" from this period were made from beautiful classic materials such as teak and mahogany. These boats were powered by engines with 100 - 150 hp and were therefore very well motorised. The model of the Phantom is based on a 34-foot version of the original.

Kit contents description:

The model is constructed in frame construction. The formers are fixed overhead on a building board, then the frame can be planked with wooden battens. The RC kit contains all the necessary parts already laser-cut. The frame components are made of plywood, the panelling is done with precious woods. The deck is made of mahogany. A single bearing shaft system and the rudder are included. Also included are all the necessary fittings, mainly made of plastic.

The building instructions are in several languages with text and good drawings. Building plans are partly available in 1:1 scale. A small model stand is included.

Motorisation and conversion to an RC driving model was taken into consideration when planning the kit and is easily possible.

Who is the kit suitable for?

The kit is aimed at modellers with little experience in ship modelling.

What else is needed?

Paints, adhesives and tools are required and can be found in our range.

What do the building instructions look like?

The multilingual building instructions consist of text instructions and very well explanatory drawings.
There are parts lists and colour recommendations. Good technical imagination is required here.
