History of the original:
The North Light is a model of a very typical small coastal freighter off the Western Isles of Scotland, known to all ship enthusiasts as the "Clyde Puffer".
Description of the kit:
The GRP hull of this model is equipped with all the details on the outside, such as rivets, bumper mouldings and scuppers. The wooden parts for the deck and superstructure are precision-milled using a CNC router. The extensive fittings set contains over 00 cast metal parts, some of which are very finely detailed, making the model look extremely realistic. Crew members are also included. A shaft system is included, the cast propeller can be replaced with a beautiful brass propeller.
The installation of a steam engine in this small model proves to be very difficult.
Who is the kit suitable for?
The kit is not suitable for beginners in modelling, plenty of experience should be available. Experience in working with glass fibre plastic parts is necessary.
