Product information "English Brigantine Golden Star"
A scale model of an English brigantine, a popular design in the 17th and 18th centuries.
A brig is a ship with two masts, square rigged like a schooner and a barque, but with a gaff and mainsail on the mainmast as well. In the 17th and 18th century, the brig was widely used in the merchant navy and was introduced into the English navy in the 1770s.
The model kit contains all the laser-cut plywood parts, all the fittings, precious wood strips and round woods needed to build the model. The caulking has already been engraved by laser in the deck parts. The rigging material consists of guys, blocks and yarn. Sails are not included. The instructions consist of a large construction plan and an extensive booklet with coloured illustrations and descriptions in several languages, including German/English. Material for a model stand is included.
The kit is not too complicated and is suitable for the patient beginner.
