The aero-naut Bellissima kit is an elegantly proportioned, large RC sailing yacht with classic lines and an elegant wood look. The model is considered an enlarged version of the Bella, but its design remains deliberately simple. This makes the Bellissima interesting for both ambitious beginners and advanced model sailors who are looking for a yacht with a commanding presence and smooth sailing characteristics.
Construction reports often emphasise that the Bellissima looks particularly ‘yacht-like’, as the mahogany surfaces and clear contours of the superstructure give the finished model a very high-quality appearance.
Construction and design
The Bellissima is built entirely from laser-cut wooden components. The hull is made from birch and mahogany plywood on a slipway plate. Forums often describe how the frame can be constructed very cleanly and precisely, while the visible mahogany parts require careful work when fitting, sanding and finishing.
The design is service-friendly. The structure can be designed so that the receiver, battery and servos remain easily accessible even after completion.
RC equipment and sailing
The Bellissima is designed for classic RC sailing with rudder and sail adjustment. Due to the large sail area, a powerful servo or a sail winch is often recommended for sail adjustment. The hull offers sufficient space for a clean and clear installation of the RC components.
Scope of delivery and important information
The kit includes the laser-cut wooden components, fittings and rigging parts, and the sails.
The keel ballast is not included in the scope of delivery and is sold separately. This ballast is absolutely essential for sailing and must be planned for additionally.
As is usual with high-quality wooden kits, adhesives, varnishes and RC components are not included in the scope of delivery. Careful sealing of the wooden surfaces is recommended to achieve a permanently clean finish.
Area of application
The Bellissima is a ready-to-sail RC sailing boat for calm to moderately windy waters such as lakes and larger ponds. It is particularly suitable for model builders who are looking for an elegant yacht with classic wooden construction and smooth sailing performance.
