Product information "Corvette Astrolabe"

The corvette "Astrolabe" was a sailing ship sent on two expeditions to Antarctica and Oceania from 1826 to 1837 by the French Navy under the command of Jules Dumont d'Urville. The ship was named after the French astronomer and explorer Jean-François de Galaup, comte de La Pérouse, who disappeared during an expedition in the South Seas in 1788. The expeditions of the "Astrolabe" contributed to the discovery and exploration of areas in Antarctica and Oceania and provided important geographical, ethnographic and natural science data.

The kit is equipped with a rich set of brass fittings. All wooden parts and frames are laser cut. Sails or model stands are not included.
