MJX Hyper GO 12212 1:12 – 4WD Brushless RC Monster Truck with 3S LiPo
The MJX Hyper GO 12212 is a high-performance 1:12 scale RC monster truck with permanent four-wheel drive, a brushless motor and large-volume off-road tyres. The vehicle is designed for fast off-road driving on gravel, earth, short stretches of grass and uneven terrain. According to the manufacturer, the model can reach a top speed of up to 60 km/h with the included 3S battery.
The robust construction, featuring metal components in the drivetrain, a fully ball-bearing-mounted power transmission system and oil-filled metal shock absorbers, is designed to withstand the stresses of so-called ‘bashing’. This refers to free-roaming off prepared race tracks, including rapid changes of direction, small jumps and varying terrain.
4WD all-wheel drive with metal gearbox and CVD drive shafts
The Hyper GO 12212 features a sturdy tub chassis with independent suspension. The central drive shaft transmits the motor’s power to the front and rear axles, where differentials ensure speed equalisation between the wheels. This allows the wheels to rotate at different speeds when cornering without the drivetrain becoming strained.
MJX uses metal gears in the main drive as well as metal CVD drive shafts. These drive shafts transmit torque evenly to the wheels even when the steering is turned and during suspension movement. Ball bearings on the rotating components reduce friction and wear.
The central arrangement of the drive components enables a compact design. A sealed receiver box protects the electronics housed within from splash water and dirt.
3660 brushless motor with 3450 kV and 60 A speed controller
The monster truck is powered by a 3660 brushless motor with 3450 kV. This comparatively large motor delivers the power required of an off-road truck to drive the wide tyres, even on surfaces with high rolling resistance.
The motor is controlled by a separate E60A brushless speed controller with a current rating of 60 A. It supports both 2S and 3S lithium batteries and enables proportional control of acceleration, braking and reverse.
The supplied 3S battery has a nominal voltage of 11.1 volts and a capacity of 2000 mAh. The higher voltage compared to a 2S battery provides the drive system with greater potential for speed. The maximum speed actually achievable depends, amongst other things, on the battery’s state of charge, the terrain and driving conditions.
Independent suspension and oil-filled metal shock absorbers
The chassis is fitted with independent suspension on both the front and rear axles. The double wishbone suspension allows the wheels to absorb uneven ground largely independently of one another.
Four oil-filled shock absorbers with metal housings control the spring movements and limit the wheels’ oscillation following bumps or jumps. Hydraulic damping is particularly important at higher speeds on uneven terrain, as it reduces the vehicle’s pitching and helps maintain as even a contact with the ground as possible.
The suspension can be adapted to different operating conditions by adjusting the spring preload. Shock absorbers, control arms and other suspension components can be removed individually and are listed in the spare parts documentation.
Large-volume monster truck tyres and robust bodywork
With a tyre diameter of approximately 111 mm and a track width of 236 mm, the Hyper GO 12212 has a wide contact patch. The deep-tread tyre profile provides mechanical grip on loose surfaces such as soil and gravel. At the same time, the large wheel diameter and high tyre sidewalls help the vehicle to roll over smaller obstacles and absorb hard impacts.
The black-and-grey truck body features a carbon-fibre-look finish, striking air vents and colour accents on the sides. A large rear wing complements the sporty appearance. At the front is a bright LED light bar that can be operated via the remote control.
The body is inserted into the mount at the front and secured at the rear using a locking system and additional retaining clips. This ensures it remains securely attached to the chassis even during vigorous chassis movements.
Front and rear bumpers protect the vehicle’s structure in the event of minor collisions. A wheelie bar fitted to the rear, featuring small support rollers, limits the vehicle’s tendency to rear up during vigorous acceleration and can prevent the bodywork from hitting the ground directly.
T3D radio control with adjustable control functions
The MJX Hyper GO 12212 is controlled via the supplied T3D pistol-grip radio control unit with 2.4 GHz radio technology. The range is at least 120 metres under suitable conditions.
The controls allow the throttle and steering to be trimmed separately, the control directions to be reversed, and the maximum control travel to be limited via dual rate. In particular, the reduced throttle setting makes it easier to handle the high engine power in a controlled manner on smaller driving surfaces.
Four AA batteries are required to operate the remote control.
Contents of the pack and required accessories
The MJX Hyper GO 12212 is supplied as a ready-to-run (RTR) model. The motor, speed controller, steering servo, receiver and lighting are already installed.
The package includes the monster truck with the body fitted, the T3D 2.4 GHz remote control, a 3S LiPo battery with 11.1 V and 2000 mAh, a suitable USB charging cable, and a tool kit containing hex keys and Allen keys, a screwdriver and an instruction manual.
Also required are four AA batteries for the transmitter and a suitable USB power supply. MJX recommends a 5 V, 2 A USB power supply for charging.
