Artesanía Latina RMS Titanic Easy Kit 1:1000 – Wooden model ship for beginners
The RMS Titanic Easy Kit from Artesanía Latina allows you to build a compact wooden model of what is arguably the most famous passenger ship in history. The 1:1000 scale kit has been specially designed for beginners and enables you to build the iconic Titanic without any prior knowledge or specialised model-making tools.
The elongated hull shape, the tiered deck superstructure and the four distinctive funnels make the finished model instantly recognisable as the RMS Titanic. Measuring 274 mm in length, it takes up very little space and is ideal for a shelf, a desk or a small display cabinet.
A ship that made history
The RMS Titanic was built on behalf of the White Star Line at the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast. She was launched on 31 May 1911 and was considered the world’s largest passenger ship at the time. Her lavishly appointed public areas, spacious cabins and modern technology made her a symbol of technical progress and the luxury of the early 20th century.
On 10 April 1912, the Titanic set sail on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York. During the night of 14–15 April, she collided with an iceberg in the North Atlantic and sank a few hours later. More than 1,500 people lost their lives in the disaster. The tragedy led to far-reaching changes in international maritime safety regulations and ensured that the Titanic would forever remain one of the most famous ships in history.
Simplified wooden model kit comprising 70 parts
The kit consists of 70 precisely cut wooden parts that can be assembled step by step to form the complete model. The design has been deliberately kept straightforward so that even modellers with no experience of wooden model kits can achieve an attractive result.
Despite its simple construction, the model convincingly recreates the typical silhouette of the historic ocean liner. The hull, deck superstructure, funnels and other characteristic elements are assembled from the pre-cut individual parts. As a result, the Easy Kit teaches basic model-making techniques without overwhelming beginners with complex planking or particularly intricate fittings.
Ideal as a first wooden model ship
Artesanía Latina estimates an average build time of around eight hours. This makes the Titanic ideal as a compact weekend project, as an introduction to wooden model-making, or as a joint craft project for adults and older teenagers.
The manageable number of parts ensures rapid, visible progress whilst preserving the typical experience of building a wooden model from scratch. Once completed, the result is a decorative display model that combines maritime history with classic model-making craftsmanship.
