Model-making clamps with interchangeable jaws – set of 2
These versatile model-making clamps with interchangeable jaws make it easier to secure components precisely whilst gluing and assembling. Particularly in ship modelling, wood modelling and plastic modelling, the clamps enable the reliable securing of strips, planks, frames, panels and other small components until the adhesive has fully set.
The set consists of two identical spring-loaded clamps, each 132 mm long with a maximum opening of 80 mm. The long, rounded arms make it possible to reach even hard-to-access bonding points whilst avoiding components that have already been fitted. This design offers a significant advantage over conventional short spring clamps, particularly when constructing model hulls or more complex assemblies.
A special feature is the interchangeable clamping jaws. Each clamp can be used with three different jaw systems. The standard jaws are suitable for the conventional securing of strips, planks or panels. The 90° angle jaws allow two components to be held reliably at right angles to one another – for example, when fitting frames, bulkheads or when constructing deck superstructures and other right-angled assemblies.
The quarter-circle jaws included as an extra enable the clamping of intersecting components. When both clamps are used together, the four jaws form a closed ring around the point of intersection, thus preventing slippage whilst the material dries.
The clamping jaws are made from a softer plastic than the sturdy ABS body of the clamps. This protects delicate materials and surfaces. The clamps are suitable for use with, amongst other things, wood, thin plywood, plastic and pre-painted components.
Thanks to the interchangeable jaw systems, this set of 2 model-making clamps replaces several different clamping tools and is suitable for demanding ship model-making as well as for model aircraft, architectural models, dioramas, miniatures and numerous other craft projects.
