Paint set for the Juan Sebastián de Elcano 1:140 – 10 acrylic paints & 2 varnishes
This specially curated paint set for the 1:140 scale Juan Sebastián de Elcano contains the colours actually used in the construction of the model presented by the manufacturer. This eliminates the need for a time-consuming search for matching colours or mixing individual shades yourself – from the hull to the decks and superstructure, right through to metal parts and fine detailing, a coordinated colour palette is provided.
The set contains a total of 12 pots, each with a capacity of 20 ml: ten acrylic paints and two varnishes for the final surface treatment. The water-based model-making paints are characterised by high opacity and quick drying. They are suitable for various materials such as wood, metal and plastic, and can be applied using either a brush or an airbrush.
The colour palette includes, amongst others, the characteristic fuselage red and fuselage green, as well as off-white, off-black, various shades of brown and yellow, aluminium and gold. This allows both larger surfaces and fittings, deck structures and small details to be painted in matching colours.
The ten colours are complemented by two silk-matt varnishes. The silk-matt clear varnish protects the finished painted surfaces without significantly altering their colour tone. The silk-matt oak varnish protects the wood whilst giving untreated wooden surfaces a warm colour tone typical of ship decks.
The colour set has been specially compiled for the Juan Sebastián de Elcano 1:140 wooden model kit, item no. 22521. However, thanks to their universal colour tones and compatibility with various materials, the model paints included can also be used for numerous other wooden and ship models.
Paintbrushes, airbrushes, primer, thinners and other tools are also not included.
