UDIRC Mosasaurus UDI025P – RC racing boat with brushless drive, 57.7 cm
The UDIRC Mosasaurus UDI025P is a 57.7 cm long RC racing boat with a brushless drive and a sturdy deep-V hull. This remote-controlled speedboat is based on the tried-and-tested Mosasaurus hull design of the UDI018, but features a drive system rated for 7.4 V. Its features include a proportional 2.4 GHz remote control, a self-righting function, switchable navigation lights, and monitoring of battery voltage and radio connection.
Reinforced Deep-V hull for high stability
The ABS hull has a pronounced V-shape with a hull angle of 33°. The multi-layer construction ensures high torsional rigidity whilst keeping the weight low. The mounting points for the rudder, drive, trim tabs and stabilising fins are reinforced, particularly in the stern area.
A narrow gliding surface at the stern (Ride Pad) reduces the wetted hull area as speed increases, thereby reducing water resistance. The Deep-V underwater hull promotes directional stability and controlled handling, even on choppy water.
The double cabin cover and additional seals protect the internal electronics from splash water.
Brushless drive with targeted water cooling
Power is provided by a high-performance brushless motor. Water cooling is provided via the motor mount and serves to cool the ball bearing on the motor side. The motor housing itself does not have a water-cooling jacket.
Power is transmitted to the propeller via a flexible steel shaft. A combined speed controller/receiver unit handles the proportional motor control. Power is supplied by a removable Li-ion battery.
3-channel remote control with adjustable handling characteristics
The proportional 2.4 GHz pistol-style remote control enables precise speed and steering control. Separate adjustment controls allow the maximum motor power and rudder angle to be limited. Rudder trim and a reverse of the control functions are also available.
Thanks to the adjustable motor power, the boat is suitable both for initial test runs at reduced speed and for sporty manoeuvres at full power.
The remote control monitors the battery’s charge level and the radio connection. Visual and audible warnings are triggered if the battery voltage is low or the radio signal is weak.
Self-righting and switchable navigation lights
The special hull design enables the boat to right itself after capsizing. The hull shape, weight distribution and buoyancy are utilised to return the model to its normal floating position. The righting process can be assisted by the drive via the remote control. No electronic attitude control or additional righting mechanism is required for this.
The integrated navigation lights can be switched on and off directly via the transmitter, improving visibility and helping with orientation on the water.
