History of the original

The Endeavour yacht was designed and built in 1934 especially for the America's Cup, the most prestigious sailing trophy in the world. Her owner, the famous British industrialist Sir Thomas Sopwith, invested in innovation and excellence to bring the United Kingdom to the forefront of international sailing.

The Endeavour was characterised by her elegant design, advanced technology for the time and excellent racing performance. Despite being one of the favourites, the Endeavour yacht delivered one of the most exciting America's Cup finals, narrowly missing out on victory against the American defender Rainbow.

Kit features

The kit contains all the necessary parts to build the model. The basic frame is built using a frame construction method. All plywood frames are laser-cut and fit perfectly. The keel is made of MDF and is therefore absolutely straight. The planking is double with planks of lime and sapele. Mahogany is used for individual deck parts. All fittings and add-on parts are prefabricated to a high quality and are included in the set. Ready-made sails in the kit save a lot of work.

The step-by-step instructions are in German and include many construction stage photos. Plans and 1:1 templates show every detail and are helpful during construction. There are 15 video tutorials available as instructions on YouTube.
