First Rate Vessel Royal Louis

The Royal Luis with her 3 decks and 120 guns was under the command of a flotilla leader admiral and undoubtedly belonged to the most impressive ships of the first rank , which the French navy had at its disposal at the time. Our model is worked from the plans of the Royal Louis 1779 , admiral ship of the white-blue Armada , which belonged to the American fleet named after Count d`Estaing.

The kit is rich in ornamentation , fittings and details , who knows the intricacies of the superstructure of this ship , can get an idea of the difficulties we have had in working out a true to life model . The ornaments of the transom are made with numerous metal castings and inlays in precious wood, the accuracy in the reproduction goes so far as to allow a glimpse into the interior of the ship with its richly designed decks through a small window.
