Spray cans and spray paints for model making

Spray cans for model making enable quick and even painting of larger surfaces and are ideal for model ships, RC models and many other model-making projects. With a suitable model-making spray paint, hulls, superstructures, casings and other components can be painted cleanly and evenly.

In our range, you’ll find model-making paints in spray cans in a wide variety of colours, as well as clear coats and surface treatment products. The RC-Styro spray paints, in particular, are suitable for various materials used in model-making, such as polystyrene, ABS, GRP, metal and wood.

Spray paint for model ships and RC modelling

In model ship building, spray paints are particularly suitable for larger surfaces such as hulls and superstructures. The fine spray application allows for even coats of paint to be achieved without leaving brush marks. Depending on the desired finish, various colours and paint types are available.

As well as coloured spray paints, you’ll also find clear varnish in matt, semi-gloss or gloss finishes. Clear varnish can be used to seal and protect surfaces that have already been painted, whilst also allowing you to adjust the desired level of shine.

Spray paints for various model-making materials

When choosing a spray paint, you should always ensure that the paint is suitable for the material in question. Materials used in model-making include wood, plastic, ABS, GRP, metal and polystyrene. Polystyrene, in particular, requires a suitable paint, as unsuitable solvents can damage the surface.
