Viking ship Oseberg a Billing Boats stand model construction kit
History of the original:
The Viking ship Oseberg was found in Norway, near Oseberg in Vestfold in 1903. The ship rested on a "bed" of blue clay and was covered with turf and a large quantity of stones. Oseberg was built in the second half of the 9th century and buried about 50 years later. The ship is around 50-100 years older than other known finds. It lay quite shallow in the water and must have been a relatively dangerous ship when under sail.
Kit contents description:
This kit is based on the classic frame construction method. Each individual plank has a special shape, is numbered and is attached according to plan. All wooden parts are precisely laser-cut. The boat's fittings are made almost entirely of wood. Sail cloth and rigging rope are included, as is a small model stand. A 1:1 building plan and building instructions are included.
Who is the kit suitable for?
The kit is aimed at modellers with little experience in ship modelling.
What else is needed?
Paints, adhesives and tools are required and can be found in our range.
What do the building instructions look like?
The multilingual building instructions consist of few text instructions and very well explanatory drawings.
There are parts lists and colour recommendations. Good technical imagination is required here.
The instructions are available for download.
