The galley developed from the rowing ships of antiquity. Further developed and refined over the centuries, its time finally came to an end in the 18th century. The Real de France dates back to the time of Louis XIV and the ship was correspondingly luxurious. Galleys were fast ships whose sails were only set to relieve the oarsmen.
All the moulded parts in this model kit are already sawn out. In this super kit, not only are the oars laser-cut, but the sails are also already sewn. A huge, multi-coloured printed sheet for the flags and a particularly valuable set of fittings bear witness to the Sun King's passion for splendour. 14 building plan sheets and German building instructions illustrate each construction phase.
