The laser-cut cardboard blocks from Shipyard are finely detailed accessories for historical ship modelling. They are used to create a realistic representation of the rigging and are particularly suitable for cardboard models, paper models, as well as detailed mixed-media or wooden models.

The blocks are constructed from precisely laser-cut layers of dark cardboard. The surface is already lightly tinted dark, so that the finished blocks visually resemble dark wood. The multi-layered gluing process creates a neatly proportioned block body with fine contours, which blends harmoniously into the rigging of historic sailing ships. Depending on the design, single blocks, double blocks, maids, heart blocks or model-specific complete sets are available.

Assembly involves carefully removing the individual laser-cut parts from the backing sheet, precisely gluing the cardboard layers on top of one another, and then integrating them into the rigging. For a particularly clean result, we recommend using a sharp model-making blade, fine tweezers and a sparing amount of cardboard or white glue. Once dry, the edges can be lightly smoothed or further treated with paint if required.
