Speed controller for model ships
Every electric motor for a model ship requires a suitable speed controller. Speed controllers continuously regulate the speed of the model ship's motor. Only when the model controller is connected to the motor and the receiver of the remote control, the model ship becomes a real RC model. In our shop you can also find speed controllers that can regulate the speed of the drive of up to two motors of an RC model. A small fan should be installed to cool the electronics.
The right controller for every RC boat
To select the right controller for an RC boat, the motor values must be determined precisely. One third of the rated power of the motor should be added to the power values of the controllers as a safety buffer. With this value, the suitable speed controller can be selected and connected to the motor of the model ship. When selecting the controller, it is important to distinguish between brushless motors and brushed motors. Both types of controller are available in our shop. The equipment of the speed controllers
For a clean start-up and control of the speed, the electronics of the speed controller must function properly and a comprehensive set of equipment must be available. This includes a microprocessor in the controller that controls the model ship. A special boat mode makes it possible for the model ship to travel in special directions, such as forwards only or forwards-backwards. To ensure that nothing goes wrong when using the speed controller, a waterproof housing, low-voltage protection and overheating protection provide more safety when driving with the models. The model controller is powered by LiPo or NiMH batteries. Many speed controllers do not require any complex programming, as they automatically adjust to the remote control when switched on. The controllers are therefore ideal for many hours of fun on the water.
