Today, these elements of the propulsion engine are often referred to in technical terms as propellers. However, you can still find both terms in our shop. As part of the turbomachinery, mechanical work is absorbed by the propellers and released into the environment as flow energy. In the case of a ship or boat, the energy is transferred to the water. The Austrian Josef Ressel is considered to be the inventor and patent holder of this method of operation and was granted the corresponding patent in 1827.

Our selection of screws and propellers covers equipment for functional as well as floor models, sailing ships, racing boats and submarines. You can buy everything from 2 to 7 blade propellers with threads from M2 to M5. Our recommendation for scale model ships are the good Raboesch propellers made of brass. For your submarine model, for example, we offer various brass propellers with 7-blade from Raboesch.

You can also get both left and right propellers for ship models that need a two propeller drive. You are not sure which propellers to use? For models whose engines could be overloaded by brass propellers, we recommend that you test the configuration with our inexpensive plastic ship's propellers. Afterwards you can make the right decision for a screw or propeller.

Accessories for racing boats - our selection of racing propellers

For racing model boats or sports boats, a selection of CNC-manufactured 2- and 3-blade racing propellers made of aluminium, stainless steel or plastic with fibre reinforcement is available in our online shop. They can be used in Hydro, Mono and Eco racing classes and have a clockwise direction of rotation unless otherwise specified. These racing screws are fitted with metric threads as standard, but some probs are available with DogDrive (DD).
