How does the brushless model-making motor work?

Brushless motors - as the name suggests - do not rely on carbon brushes, but work with a three-phase synchronous machine. Due to the missing brushes less friction is generated, but more mechanical power is built up. Speed and torque are thus significantly better than with comparable brushed motors. With brushless motors only the lighter rotor turns. The motors therefore run more quietly. To control the speed a special speed controller ESC for brushless motors is needed. The motor is connected to the controller via a 3 pole cable, the direction of rotation can be changed by swapping two cables. The blushless motors can be used without any further modifications due to the supplied mounting bulkhead.

Internal and external rotor

We offer motors with internal and external rotors. With internal rotors the inner part rotates with the permanent magnet. The motor housing is fixed. Internal rotors achieve a higher speed, but less torque than external rotors where the motor housing rotates. Internal rotors are popular brushless model making motors because they offer a very powerful drive. External rotors, on the other hand, have a high torque.
