Tugboat Smit Nederland RC model kit

The Smit Nederland was built in 1979 by BV Scheeps-Werft & Machinefabriek "De Merwede" in Hardinxveld, Holland. Length 28.40 m, width 8.85 m, draught 3.85 m. She is powered by two "Stork Werkspoor" diesel engines, which produce 1,800 hp at 1000 rpm. 1,800 hp at 1000 rpm. The speed is 12 knots with a range of 2,250 nautical miles. A special feature of the original are the adjusting screws running in a jacket tube, as well as two transverse thrusters, which give the ship good manoeuvrability.

This kit is equipped with a deep-drawn ABS hull and laser-cut wooden parts. The Becker rudder with Kort nozzle, propeller shaft with stern tube and propeller are designed to be driven by an electric motor. All fitting parts are included with the construction plan and building instructions.

With the last revision in 2022, the Becker rudder will be supplied in brass again.
