Calypso
Faithful model of Jaques Yves Cousteau's ocean research vessel
The original was built in the USA in 1942 as a minesweeper, purchased by Jacques Yves Cousteau in 1950 and transformed into a fully equipped ocean research vessel after extensive modifications and adaptations. The equipment includes an observation chamber in the stern, an oval diving bell, a Galäzzi pressure chamber, an inflatable boat for travelling in shallow water, a helicopter and extensive underwater equipment.

Construction kit:
This kit is equipped with a deep-drawn ABS hull and laser-cut wooden parts. The rudder, ship's shaft with stern tube and propeller are designed to be driven by an electric motor. All fitting parts are included in the scope of delivery along with a construction plan and building instructions.
