Submarine Akula

The DUMAS Akula is modelled on the nuclear submarine developed by the Komsomolsk shipyard in the early 1980s. NATO gave it the designation "Akula", which translates as "shark".

The kit is a dynamic submersible model made from moulded ABS parts. Only the hull parts and the drive have to be assembled. Included is a waterproof box for the RC components. The battery pack is in a separate box and can be charged without having to open the model completely. The drive unit is included in full.

This model is a good introduction to submarine modelling. The guaranteed safe diving depth is approx. 2 metres, and with a full battery you can achieve running times of 30 minutes.

All you need is a 7.2 V motor (approx. 5000 rpm) with speed controller, a stick battery pack and a 3-4 channel remote control!

For the experienced hobbyist, there is enough space in the waterproof box to accommodate a third servo, electronics and pump. An upgrade to a static dew model is therefore possible with a little skill and imagination.
