Modern inflatable dinghies as used on many yachts and boats, often suspended from crane beams or tied down on deck. The boats are made in 3D resin process very detailed in two halves and are hollow and light after assembly.
 
3D resin parts should be painted in any case, as the plastic, like most other plastics, changes due to weathering and UV light. The material can be processed and sanded well and can be glued and painted without any problems.
